Copying and Downloading Restrictions
You are reminded that photocopying of print material and printing and downloading of online material is limited by copying and downloading policies.
Customer Charter
Library Services' mission, to provide a high quality information service, can only be achieved by a working partnership between customers and the Library. Our Customer Charter sets out our commitment to our customers and how you can help us and Library Terms and Conditions for service use.
Your comments and suggestions are always welcome via the online feedback form.
Donations Policy
Library Services strategy focuses on the development and promotion of high quality online resources to support teaching, research and scholarship. This requires a managed de-commitment from print collections. Donations of print materials cannot therefore be accepted, (except in the case of unique, relevant and valuable material*)
* In these circumstances a case will need to be made in writing to the Associate Director of Library Services (Academic and Student Services), endorsed by an Associate Dean of the Faculty concerned. Electronically published OU research outputs should be deposited routinely within the Open Research Online (ORO) Database. For further details of this database visit http://oro.open.ac.uk/
We regret that Library Services is unable to return unsolicited donations and we will dispose of them.
Information Literacy
The 'Integrating information literacy into the curriculum' booklet (part of the Practical Pedagogy series) has been written by Library Services, in collaboration with the Centre for Outcomes-Based Education, for everyone involved in writing and teaching Open University courses. Its purpose is to show what information literacy (IL) is, how it can be successfully built into courses and programmes of study, and how Library staff can work with OU staff to achieve this.
