Dr Edward Brech (1909 - 2006) was awarded an MBE for services to history of management in 2003 and was the first person in Britain to achieve a doctorate in British management history
He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Letters by the OU in 2005, the first within the Open University Business School.
Dr Brech donated his personal archive of papers and books to the Open University.
