Find out how chatting to a Librarian helped two students get help just when they needed it!

[[[image-0 medium right]]]Did you know you can Chat to a Librarian any time day or night?

Keith found out how valuable this service was when he was studying a level 3 art history course.  He said in a Library interview that he used the Chat to a Librarian service late at night to help him find information for his assignment:

“You type in your question and then you have a conversation with a librarian who can point you at the right resource to find the answer to your question…it’s the equivalent of going into a major library.”

He has spoken late at night with librarians in the UK and North America who’ve pointed him in the right direction.  Keith is on track to graduate with an Art History degree this year.

Michael was a third year law student when he took part in a Library interview.  He had dropped out of medical school due to health reasons and told us that his experience of law libraries in the past has been going to physical libraries which often don’t hold enough copies for the number of students.  He is delighted with the access he gets to online resources “the OU Library is on the system, everyone can use it”.  On one occasion when needed help with accessing some of the law databases, he phoned the Library Helpdesk:

“I phoned up and someone was very helpful. Some of the cookies built up and got all mixed up on my library so I couldn’t access the databases. And they told me how to clear the history. So that was very helpful”.

So if you’re trying to finish an assignment and you need help, you’re not on your own.  Help and advice is on hand whenever you need it and wherever you are.  The Library Helpdesk is available 24/7.
