New online library training sessions – come and experience Adobe Connect!

We’re really excited to announce that on 19th September we will relaunch our programme of online training sessions. The new 30 minute sessions will cover library skills topics such as searching for information, evaluating sources, and referencing, and will be delivered throughout the week including evenings and weekends.

We will be using Adobe Connect, which is the replacement for OU Live. If you’re starting a new module in October this is a great opportunity to learn more about how the library can support your studies and also to experience this tool before your module starts!

To inform the rewrite, we conducted research to establish students’ needs and expectations around online library training. Members of the Library Student Panel were asked about format, delivery mechanism, timing and subject coverage. Key findings include a preference for shorter sessions, using OU platforms for delivery, and for sessions to be ‘expert-led’ but with elements of interaction.

These sessions are open to all OU staff and students and you don’t need to register in advance. Further details and dates are available on the Training and Events page.
