Plays, poems, stories and more with Literature Online

Literature Online is a fantastic resource for Literature students – with the full text of over 355,000 literary works dating from the 8th Century all the way up to the present day available to view and read. There is also a huge collection of reference and critical resources – including the Cambridge Companions series, and Penguin Classics Introductions.

The site hosts some other super useful features.  For example did you know that the word “student” appears 95 times throughout Shakespeare’s work? The handy word search feature allows you to search full texts by author or time period.

The site also hosts ‘Poets On Screen’ and ‘Poetry Archive Audio’ (video and audio of poets reading their own and other’s work), as well as full audio recordings of all of Shakespeare’s plays.
