Library Search updated to new look and feel

Library Search is being updated to a new look and feel on 8 August 2018.

The way you use Library Search will remain the same but the appearance and location of some elements on the search pages will be a little different.  We have conducted accessibility testing and usability testing on these changes to make sure they improve ease of use.

A link to the ‘classic’ version of Library Search will remain available after the switch to the new version for students who are nearing completion of a module or project later in 2018.

Benefits to the new interface include:

  • Library Search appears less cluttered
  • Journal holding coverage dates will be easier to find when journals are from a single provider
  • The order of items on ‘My Bookshelf’ (called ‘My Favourites’ in the new version of Library Search) can be sorted.
  • Databases that were difficult to find will appear at the top of search results. Try searching for ‘ECCO’ (short for Eighteenth Century Collections Online) to see this in action
