Exploring ebooks

How do I attend?

Go to Exploring ebooks and select 'Join Room'. The room remains closed until the trainer has entered – this will usually be 15 minutes before the start time.

Benefits

There are over 400,000 ebooks available in the OU Library. This 30 minute session will introduce you to accessing and using ebooks, including encyclopedias and dictionaries. It will also explore some of the tools available to use ebooks effectively.

Who's it for?

Suitable for all students who would like an introduction to Library ebooks, and develop skills to get the most out of using ebooks.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this session you will:

  • be able to search for information in online dictionaries and encyclopaedias
  • be able find and navigate around ebooks
  • understand and use a range of tools which may be available in ebooks
