I am a disabled student, how do I request a postal loan?

There is a postal service available for housebound students who require print books that the library holds. The library pays the outgoing postage but please note, you will need to return books by recorded delivery post.

The postal service is mentioned on the Disabled users support page. To use the postal service you must have completed and returned to the Library a Library Registration form making sure you have said Yes to postal loans in section 3.

To request a postal loan:

1. Find the item you wish to borrow in the library catalogue.
2. Choose Make a Request.
3. Log in if required.
4. Decide whether to select Hold (for items on the shelf) or Recall (for items on loan) from the options given.

Please see How do I borrow, renew and return items? for more information. Note that there is now a pilot service to provide photocopied journal articles for housebound students. You can currently request copies from our print journal collection. Journals can be searched for from the Library catalogue. You need to contact the Library Helpdesk to notify us of your request.
