I am having problems when trying to access MyReferences
MyReferences is a bibliographic management tool, which allows you to build a personal library of resources.
To access MyReferences:
1. When you access
MyReferences, you should see a message "Unable to connect to your account. Please either create an account or supply details to an alternate account."
2. Click on 'Create account'
You should now see the "your account was successfully created" message, you are logged into MyReferences can start creating references and folders etc.
If you do not now see the "your account was successfully created" message then this may be because the email address associated with your Open University Computer Username and password (OUCU) is not the same as the email address associated with RefWorks (MyReferences is powered by the RefWorks software, RefWorks is an online bibliographic management software package which sits behind MyReferences). Please go to step 3.
3. Go to RefWorks, click on the Update Profile link at the top of the page.
4. Change your email address to the one that is associated with your OUCU (you can check what this email address is by going to StudentHome: Profile). Please be aware that updating your details may take 3 working days to be reflected in your record on the web, if you change it in Studenthome.
5. Return to
MyReferences. Note that you may need to refresh your page (press F5).
You should now be logged in and able to create references and folders etc.
