PAPERS

The papers you find on this web site were commissioned from researchers working mainly in a UK context. They are presented as working papers, many of which have been subsequently edited for publication elsewhere. (Click on ADVICE for notes on referencing these papers). Revised versions of two of the papers now appear in the first volume of three readers prepared for the Open University's Master's Module "Supporting Lifelong Learning". These readers can be purchased separately, and provide an in-depth examination of lifelong learning from a diverse range of disciplines. (Click on MASTER'S MODULE for details)

PEOPLE

Most of the people whose biographies appear on this site attended a residential meeting at the University of East London in July 2000. Authors of papers were each paired up with a “reader” from this group, who joined the author to present key issues arising from their reading of the paper for small group discussion. If you browse through the “People” pages here, you will see that these readers included policy-makers and/or practitioners in lifelong learning as well as academics with diverse interests. Please note that contact addresses and biographical details may have changed for many of these people and these have not been updated since July 2000.
