Pedagogies for Lifelong Learning: Building Bridges or Building Walls?

Currently a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Continuing Education, University of Leeds. Has been at the university since 1991, and was initially a Lecturer in Continuing Education.

Member of the Centre for Policy Studies in Education and of the Lifelong Learning Institute at Leeds. Involved in SCUTREA since 1992.

Interests in Life Long Learning
Research interests in recent years have turned increasingly towards teacher education, and understandings of pedagogic theory and practice, as they manifest themselves in the contexts where adult learners are found which is, increasingly, everywhere.

Academic work with teachers in further and higher education, and experience in teaching and organising in adult education, have meant that most of her professional life has been spent thinking about other peoples lifelong learning.
