Can economists change the world?

Can Applied Economics improve our world, or do policymakers give economists too much attention?

Four leading economists will discuss the role of economists in informing and shaping policy, as well as the rewards and frustrations of communicating research findings to policymakers:

  • Nola Hewitt-Dundas (Queen’s University Management School)
  • Alan Fernihough (Queen’s University Management School)
  • Lisa Wilson (Nevin Economic Research Institute)

Chaired by Alan Shipman from The Open University.
