The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is proud to showcase the winners of our 2020 Creative Writing Competition!

Judged by award-winning writers and OU tutors, Nessa O’Mahony and Csilla Toldy, our entrants created a piece of Flash Fiction or Poetry on the theme of ‘Essentials’. The standard of the entries was exceptional and goes to highlight the emerging creative talent among our undergraduate students.

Below, you can read the pieces that were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each category, along with a short bio from each of our winners. We look forward to seeing more from each of them!

A huge well done to all those who participated in the competition, and congratulations to Dana, Jackie, Carolyn, Nichola, Aideen and Sarah!
