Industry leaders gather for skills discussion

Kirsty McManus, National Director at the Institute of Directors Northern Ireland (IoDNI) has called for greater collaboration between further and higher education institutions and the business community here in order to achieve the region’s economic goals.

The remarks from the local business leader were made today (November 24) at a roundtable event hosted by the IoDNI and The Open University.

OU Nursing student wins NIPEC award for student excellence

The Northern Ireland Practice Education Council for Nursing & Midwifery (NIPEC) presented a new award for Student Excellence to student nurse with The Open University, Bincy Augustine.  This award recognises how the student demonstrates professionalism in practice, person-centred care in practice, and a commitment to academic and theoretical learning, whilst remaining professional in challenging circumstances.

A major new public policy initiative, PolicyWISE, is being developed by The Open University (OU). PolicyWISE will be the UK's first network of academics and civil servants to explicitly address comparative public policy research and knowledge exchange across the four nations of the UK and Ireland.

The Open University in Ireland supports Book Week NI

The Open University in Ireland (OUiI) was delighted to partner with Libraries NI and BBC NI for Book Week NI 2022.

Running from 17-23 October, the programme included activities and events across the library network in Northern Ireland. The OUiI contributed three events to the line-up thanks to the support of academics and alumni.
