The Open University works in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary organisations in Northern Ireland to offer an Honours degree in Social Work which is the required qualification for social workers in the UK. This programme is open only to those who are currently employed in the sector and are supported by their employer to undertake the qualification.
The Open University degree programme is the only work-based option in Northern Ireland, and it offers flexible, cost-efficient training for staff to enable them to attain a professional qualification whilst continuing in their employment.
