Welcome to the Open University Vocational Qualification Assessment Service website. This site has been developed to provide you with information about Vocational Qualifications; the programmes we offer and how we will support you in gaining a nationally recognised and transferable qualification.
Please follow the link below to access further information about Vocational Qualifications and The Open University Vocational Qualification Assessment Centre.
We have four registration cut-off dates each year in March, June, September and December*. We will need to receive your registration documents before the 15th of the registration month in order to process them, otherwise they will be held over until the next registration intake.
*For candidates registering for the Integrated Vocational Route, there is one further cut-off date on the 15th of August, to align with the October K101 start date.
Programme start dates are eight weeks after the registration cut-off date. Before the programme start date, you will receive your portfolio and materials.
The Qualification Credit Framework is a new framework for creating and accrediting qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. From 2010 all vocational qualifications will be put onto the QCF and as a result qualifications will have new titles and be structured in a different way.
For further details about the QCF and specific subject area's, please go to the 'Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)' tab on the left.
VQAC will continue to take registrations for NVQ’s throughout 2010; however, as new QCF qualifications become available for registration these will be advertised under the individual subject areas on the Vocational Qualifications tab on the left.
We also welcome any feedback you may have on this site. Please follow the link below to our feedback survey to send us your comments.
If you have any further queries about NVQs, or you wish to register for one of our qualifications, please email us.
