Observation Skills in Psychology

Welcome to the Observation Skills in Psychology project web site. Here you will find information about the project, the materials it has developed and the fOCUS II software.

Funded by HEFCE through the Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning, the project began in January 2002 and has concentrated on further developing the ‘fOCUS’ software shell, which won the European Academic Software Award in 2000 and has produced a range of resources designed for undergraduate psychology students, DClinPsyc trainees and researchers.

Since 2006, The Open University has been using further HEFCE funding to extend the software into health and educational psychology training and the latest edition (fOCUS III) will extend its potential to be used in a wider variety of subject areas.
