The PILS CETL worked as part of the Open CETL to ensure that it applied best practice on evaluation through consultation and advice from Professor Murray Saunders from Lancaster University.
The PILS CETL made use of the Open University's research expertise, including the:
- Institute of Educational Technology Centre for Educational Research (IET), one of the UK's longest-established and largest institutional research enterprises.
- Centre for Outcome-Based Education (COBE).
A range of evaluation activities were undertaken, both quantitative and qualitative.
One element of the PILS CETL's evaluation strategy was to use the feedback from cognate CETLs.
