In this issue:

  1. An article on ‘Experiments Online’ describes just two of the ways that COLMSCT and PiCETL are bringing experiments to widely dispersed students using the internet.
  2. The article, ‘Methods and Mess,’ by PBPL investigator Barry Cooper, reflects on the difficulties and creative opportunities arising from research into the area of practice-based assessment issues in social work education.
  3. Pat Atkins, Director of PILS CETL, in her article ‘Building online communities of students,’ suggests that online peer networks are becoming an essential aspect of personalised learning support.
