RESEARCH IMPLICATIONS OF THE GERRY ROBINSON PROGRAMME

The issues raised in the Rotherham case interconnect with a significant number of themes being explored in our OUBS-NHS study. Five in particular stand out:

(1) Engaging clinicians in management
(2) NHS reforms - competition and the market
(3) Centralization and decentralization
(4) Clinical governance and the management of clinical practice
(5) Governance of the NHS - who makes decisions about priorities? The role of Foundation Trusts, PCTs, SHAs etc.

The research team will be interested to hear from anyone with interests in and knowledge about these areas.
