UNISA SBL, South Africa

The partnership with University of South Africa School of Business Leadership (UNISA SBL) commenced in 1997 with the presentation of Open University Business School certificate and diploma level management courses for a UNISA award.  The courses use Open University (OU) teaching and learning material and methodologies.  The Open University Business School MBA was first introduced in South Africa through UNISA SBL in 2000.  In 2002 it was then re-launched as the UNISA MBA in co-operation with the Open University/Open University Business School.  The UNISA MBA was accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE) in May 2006.  UNISA SBL successfully launched the new UNISA MBA in January 2007 with a cohort of 50 students.  UNISA SBL are ambitious for the MBA: over 200 students started on the programme in June 2007 and numbers are expected to grow in the coming years.
