Running Club

a lady runner

The Club is run on a rather informal basis and there are no Club fees! Runners usually run at lunchtimes and often meet each other by informal arrangement at the pavilion. There are twice weekly organised sessions: a fartlek session (based on effort and recovery intervals) on Tuesdays and an interval training session around the Woughton Playing Fields on Fridays. Both sessions leave the pavilion at about 12.20, so just turn up if you want to join in.

Each month a handicap race is arranged so that runners can compete with one another. These races are either 10 miles/5 miles or 5km. In addition, the Club organises the annual Les Irvine Relay Race in April/May and a Tour in October, when you get to do all 3 handicap races in a week.

Kevin Church is the events organiser and if you wish to join in the handicap races then please email him.

For general information about the Club you can contact Rachel Dell or Kevin Church, who will be happy to help you. We look forward to seeing you!
