Booking Information

This page contains the key information you need to know about booking theatre tickets through the OU Theatre Group Bookers’ Club.

Please make sure you are familiar with the contents BEFORE requesting tickets.

More detailed information and the answers to other questions can be found on our FAQ page.

How to request tickets

  • Go to the relevant show page you are interested in booking tickets for
  • Familiarise yourself with details of the show and the key dates (see key dates below)
  • Fill in the booking request form on the relevant show page indicating the number of tickets you require and any seating preferences or special requirements

Key dates

  • Show Date – Date of the performance we have booked tickets for
  • Ticket Deadline Date – The final date when you must have requested your tickets by. This is the also the final date you can make amendments to your ticket request. Once the ticket deadline date has passed, you become liable for paying for the tickets you have requested, as the price is calculated on the number of tickets sold.
  • Payment Date – The final date by which payment is required. You must pay by this date as we risk losing all of the tickets in our booking if we do not pay the theatre on time. Please note that tickets are allocated on a first to pay gets best seats basis.

Booking status

Due to the number of tickets we book, we are unable to confirm receipt of payment, ticket posting etc. Booking statuses that indicate how far in the booking process each show is can be found on our BOOKING STATUS page.

Seating

  • All of our tickets are Band A (unless otherwise stated) and are usually a selection of Stalls or Circle tickets.
  • You can specify a seating area (Stalls/Circle) or request specific seating due to special requirements (wheelchair etc) at time of requesting tickets (where applicable).
Please note that whilst we will always try to accommodate your request, we cannot guarantee it.
  • A seating plan of Milton Keynes Theatre can be found on our FAQ page.

Payment overview

  • We will request payment from you once the ticket deadline date has passed. At this point your tickets are non-refundable and non-returnable, you will need to try and sell your tickets if you are no longer able to attend.
  • Our preferred payment method is Online/Telephone Banking. If you cannot do either of these forms of banking, you can go to your branch and ask them to make a payment into our account using the reference and payment details in the email.
  • We cannot accept cash. All details of how to pay for your show will be sent to you in the payment email.

What you will receive from us

  • A message confirming your request (if tickets are still available) providing you with all of the information you need to know at this stage of your booking
  • A message requesting payment for the tickets you have requested providing you with all the information you need to make payment
  • Various reminders as required (payment, envelopes)
  • Other messages relating to your show such as special event information

Help us to help you

The OUTGBC is run by 5 volunteers. We do this in our own time and outside of our normal working hours. Therefore, please do not expect immediate responses to your requests and do not send duplicate requests if you have not heard anything – we are probably not able to respond at this time.

Also, please do not contact us personally (by email or visits to our desks) as this interrupts our OU work and other members of staff in our offices.  Each group booker is allocated different shows, so we do not know the status of the other group bookers' shows.

Please remember that we are volunteers. We have therefore tried to put as much information as possible on our website and in our communcations to help deal with most queries.
