Venue: Green Room or Old Lecture Theatre
Membership Fee: £6 staff; £9 non-staff or £1.5 per session for non-members
Table tennis is a sport for all. It can help releasing work stress and burning off unwanted calories at a rate higher than football (professional players can hit a ball 3 times a second!). You can also play table tennis whatever the weather is.
We usually meet at the Green Room (the room situated above the Old Lecture Theatre) on Monday and Thursday evenings, and at the Old Lecture Theatre on either Saturday or Sunday mornings whenever we are able to book it. We have regular bookings for the Green Room for:
1. Monday and Thursday evenings (5-10pm);
2. Saturday or Sunday mornings (9:30-1pm).
We also have some bookings for the Old Lecture Theatre for:
Saturday or Sunday mornings (9:30-1pm).
The club has two tables with nets, bats, balls and a serving robot for use by members. However, for serious players, they are encouraged to bring their own bats. We now have about 25 members. The club is also an affiliated club of the Milton Keynes Table Tennis League. We currently have four teams playing in the league at varies divisions (Division 1, 3, 5 and 7). Our OU Dynamos team won the divisional titles in Division 2 and OU Pavilion got the Runners up in the Intermediate Division (3rd highest division in the league) in 2005/2006. If you are interested in playing league matches, please contact us.
The membership fee for 2009 is 6 pounds per annum for staff members and 9 pounds per annum for non-staff members. The membership fee will be reduced by 50% if one joins the club between 1st July and 31st December. Session fee is only 1.5 pound for non-members and free for members.
The way we arrange a practice session is that I send an email out to all the people in the mailing list in the mornings of Mondays and Thursday and ask if anybody wants to play on that day. If someone is interested to play, he/she will reply to all the people in the mailing list with the time he/she intends to come. If you would like to join the mailing list, please send me an email.
Members of the club are happy to give advice and help to new members. Contact Patrick Wong for more details, ext 59356 or email: k.c.p.wong@open.ac.uk

Both Tag and Touch Rugby are fun sports that help people to keep fit and healthy. There is minimal contact involved in these sports that are played throughout the world by men and women (including mixed teams) of all ages and skill levels. Both games emphasize running, agility and ball handling skills such as passing and catching. Tag and Touch rugby is similar to rugby but without the physicality and contact of full game.
We play throughout the summer on Tuesday and Thursday lunch times 12.30 - 1.30pm near the pavilion and Thursday lunch times throughout the winter. We also play friendlies against anybody who wants to play us, and we also play in the Bedford Touch Rugby league during the summer.
If you have any questions, want to know more, or register an interest in taking part in the fun please contact Alan, Gerald or Sam.

This club organises trips to a wide range of shows at Milton Keynes Theatre and trips to the West End. In the last year we’ve booked 2633 tickets for 42 different shows totalling over £50,000 of ticket sales! We have over 350 regular bookers.
Milton Keynes Theatre shows are run on a discount scheme, working on the principle of the greater number of tickets sold, the greater the discount. For most shows; groups of 40+ receive £5 off face value per ticket, groups of 20+ receive £4 off per ticket, groups of 10+ receive £2 off per tickets. Exceptions include shows with larger discount eg Pantomime, Operas and special offers we receive from the theatre as valued customers.
Top priced tickets for West End shows are offered often at half price for groups of over 40 people, and we provide subsidised coach travel leaving from Walton Hall. Tickets are usually limited to 4 per OU staff member for West End offers.
There are no membership fees and everyone can book tickets. Tickets can also be booked for family and friends who can take advantage of these great reductions offered by the theatres for group booking.
Please visit our website for more information and a "doodle" poll where you can vote on which London shows you wish to see http://www.open.ac.uk/ouclub/MKtheatrebookings/
New bookers should look at the FAQ before booking.
