OUSA Conference

Picture of Chair's box at Conference OUSA Conference 2012 will witness the biggest changes to the nature of this event in the history of the Open University Student Association. From this year it will consist of a face to face element and an online element with up to 400 students expected to take part in each venue.

Taking place over the weekend of 22 – 24 June, the face to face event on the O U Campus in Milton Keynes will consist of a smaller formal business agenda leaving a very large part of the weekend available for presentations, discussions, workshops and the like with ample opportunities for Open University students to socialise and network.

The online element of the Conference will consider the same formal business items and will include a range of other activities appropriately tailored for the online medium. The online Conference will be open to all students to read but only those registered as delegates will be able to participate.

All registered Open University students are entitled to apply for one of the delegate places at either element of OUSA Conference 2012. Accommodation, catering and reasonable travelling expenses are paid for by OUSA.

Registration opens in late April but you can express your interest right now by emailing s.j.carter@open.ac.uk who will take your details to contact you at a later date.

From this year, the Conference changes to a biennial event and it won’t be until 2014 that this opportunity will be offered again. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and we expect a really good take up from students who want to be a part of this historic occasion. Therefore there is no time to delay if you’re interested to take part in 2012.
