Central Executive Committee Members (C E C Ms) for geographical areas are responsible for the proper representation of OUSA in their respective regions and nations. They are responsible for ensuring that their members are given adequate information through their Assemblies, OUSA forums and other appropriate channels concerning central events and affairs. They are also responsible for the representation of regional and national opinion forwarded by Assemblies and OUSA forums; they are expected to keep in contact with Assemblies throughout their regions and nations, and ex-officio, to attend OUSA forum meetings to explain and promote the policy of the Association determined by Conference. We have provided email contacts for the C E C Ms below. However, these should only be used for requesting information specific to your region, nation or Assembly and not for general enquiries. I'm a fellow OU student, just about to start my final 60 point course to gain a BA (Hons) History.
I have been involved in OUSA from the early days of studying. I have held the positions of Secretary, Chair and Treasurer at Branch level, and have chaired the South West Regional Forum. Now, as CECM for the South West, I'm looking forward in helping the students of our region get the most out of OUSA.

I have now been an O U Student since 2002, studying Earth Sciences. It took me a year to discover activity at a local branch but when a combined Norfolk branch emerged, I became treasurer of that, served on the Regional Forum and have attended Conference since 2006, becoming ECM East of England in 2008. I am a Student Representative on the O U Regional Committee and on the Science Faculty Committee. Keeping informed about student needs is challenging at times, a Regional Forum tries to have representation from as many areas and faculties as possible, so that we can keep abreast of local needs and attitudes but if you live in the East of England and have a view or a question, please let me know.

I have been a student since 1992, and have continued ever since having found OU study highly addictive. I have studied courses across most faculties, but mostly in social sciences. I am, however, just starting out on a new set of courses with the intention of coming away with a BA (hons) in History. I began my involvement in OUSA in 2003 with the regeneration of my local branch in Wakefield, going on to be elected Treasurer and a representative on our Regional Forum, as it was at the time. Now that I am elected CECM for the region, I look forward to working with the students of the region, as well as the rest of the CEC, in working through the issues surrounding students and OU study, especially in these changing times.

Hello I am Sue I currently live in south Wales. Since my first contact with OUSA from a letter through the door telling me of a regeneration meeting for the area I have been active both at branch level and with the forum. Everything I have done within OUSA has been a learning curve sometimes steep but also enjoyable. Currently as the CECM Wales, I find myself busy with helping prospective and current students get the most out of their student life.
I was also elected as a Trustee of OUSA, so have to attend to the issues that holding this position entails.
Eventually somewhere in amongst all of this I will complete my studies to pass a BA (Hons) Open Degree.

I started my OU studies in 1992 and soon became involved with the then Glasgow and Scotland West Branch of OUSA. I graduated in 2000 with a BSc (hons) Open and have continued my studies since then, primarily within the Science faculty but with forays into other faculties from time to time.
My OUSA experience is extensive and I have held officer positions at both Branch and National level. I have served as committee representative, conference delegate, residential school representative, graduation marketing representative, steering committee member and have represented OUSA in Scotland to outside agencies.

For the first time I met OUSA reps and members in May in person. The talks made me curious and I wanted to become involved. I have studied with the OU since 2004 and finished the MBA and the MEd. Currently I am studying towards the MSc in Research in Business and Management which I will finish in 2013. I highly support the system of the OU and believe, that education is central to both professional and personal development in the future. I would like to contribute from a North European point of view and I am looking forward to the new challenge.

I have been studying with the OU since 1999, gaining a BSc (Hons) in Social Science with Psychological Studies and Sociology, and in 2012 I’ll be starting on my dissertation to finish my MSc in Social Research Methods.
I live in Greece and have been involved with OUSA for the last 5 years, holding the post of Chair of OUSA Greece for those years, and a member of the Southern Europe Assembly since last year. After attending my first Conference I decided to become even more involved and became a Central Representative and have been on several OU Committees.
I would like to be able to represent the views of students in Southern Europe, and to do that I need feedback from students, so please contact me with any ideas, suggestions or queries.
