Profile summary

Professional biography

I’ve been working in education for over 5 years, during which time I have been involved with the promotion and implementation of e-learning. I’m continually intrigued by how technology can enhance the learning experience, which in turn, drives me to discover effective ways to help students achieve their goals.

Before joining the OU, I was a teacher at North Hertfordshire College, delivering a range of creative courses at the Centre for the Arts. In an extension of my role, I was part of the team that devised and developed the college’s bespoke VLE. As a result of this, I was able to form a partnership with The Education Foundation, whose aim is to promote the use of technology in education in the UK. I was also fortunate to work with Facebook, demonstrating actual implementation of social media in a learning environment.

I’m currently a Media Coordinator in the Learning Innovation team, part of LTS, working specifically on the OpenCreate project. My previous role in the OU was as a Media Assistant where I supported module production for both print and online learning materials. I’ve also worked on MOOC productions, using my previous experience as a graphic designer to produce graphic assets and animated videos.
