Professional biography

I am CENTA NERC funded PhD student in the final stages of my PhD entitled "Reconstructing the Indian Summer Monsoon response to global climate change".

My project has utilised samples recovered from IODP Exp. 353 within the core region of the Indian monsoon, the northern Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, and has involved a multi-proxy approach to reconstruct past variations in the Indian Summer Monsoon from 70-140 thousand years ago. Predominantly, geochemical tracers (e.g. trace elements and oxygen isotopes) of planktic foraminifera combined with bulk sediment elemental concentrations have been applied to trace past changes in Indian Summer Monsoon induced surface freshening and river runoff.

Supervisors: Dr. Pallavi Anand (OU), Dr. Phil Sexton (OU) and Prof. Melanie Leng (BGS)
