My research focuses on physical studies of planetary surfaces and small solar system bodies (asteroids, comets, interplanetary dust and space debris) through analysis of spacecraft data, ground and space-based observations, labortaory simulations and computer modelling.
See my web pages for details.
I have been involved in production and presentation of a number of astronomy modules at the OU: S282 Astronomy, SXR208 Observing The Universe, S194 Introducing Astronomy, S177 Galaxies, Stars and Planets.
I have authored a range of course materials: books, activities, observational projects, assessments etc and was joint editor and author of "An Introduction to the Sun and Stars", and co-author of "Observing The Universe, both co-published by Cambridge University Press. I regularly attend astronomy residential schools (SXR208, SXP288) both as school director and tutor.
