GreyHoundFriends are an independent group of greyhound and lurcher owners and lovers who enjoy getting together with others for social dog walks and fundraising events in the North Bucks / South Northants area.

Sharing a passion for this gentle breed of dog means we also share a concern for the thousands of greyhounds and lurchers abandoned (or worse) each year in the UK alone.

All dogs (not just the long-legged lot) are very welcome on our walks and at our dog-friendly events. Apart from the benefits of socialising with different breeds we just love to have them along. From time to time we support other breeds of dogs in need.

Our main aims are to:

• raise funds for greyhounds and lurchers in the care of any rescue organisation
• draw attention to the plight of thousands of unwanted greyhounds and promote them as making wonderful pets
• provide opportunities to get together with other dogs and their owners for lots of fun and socialisation
• offer a support network to other owners when required
