E-Learning Materials and Teaching Resources Physics and Astronomy
Finding ways of making the preparation of teaching material more effective and less time consuming is an important activity for the Physics Innovations CETL. We are creating innovative ICT tools that can be used in a variety of ways, compiling resource banks for assessment questions and images used in teaching and have access to a range of products from previously funded projects.
E-Tuition and Student Support in Physics and Astronomy
The Physics Innovations CETL is involved in projects which explores equipping tutors with new techologies to deliver e-tutorials and support materials to students.

Problem-based learning is an instructional strategy in which students confront conceptually ill-structured problems and strive to find meaningful solutions. Benefits to students of this approach to learning include deep learning, engangement with the subject, transferable skills and personal development. Benefits to teaching staff include teaching satisfaction, community atmosphere, enhanced student recruitment and retention and smoother transition to post-graduate research.
