Planetary Geology

Here are some possible PhD projects. We are also happy to devise a project which suits your interest and skills.

How to Apply

Applications, comprising an up-to-date CV and the names and addresses of 3 academic referees should be submitted to the first named supervisor as soon as possible. Usually the start date for our PhD students is in October but in exceptional cases, other start dates are also considered.

Almost all of our successful applicants have a 1st or upper 2nd class honours degree in a relevant science subject and a Masters/MSci/MESci or equivalent experience.

Non EU students are generally not eligible to receive funding for a UK research council funded PhD project unless they can satisfy the residency criteria. You should check the UKBA website (see the link below) for the latest guidelines.

A small number of projects are sometimes funded by other non-research-council sources in which case projects are open to everyone.
