Post Doctoral Research Associate, Department of Physical Sciences, The Open University
We seek a highly competent and motivated post doctoral researcher for a Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) funded research grant to conduct geochemical and isotopic investigations of lunar samples to evaluate secular variation in the lunar mantle with respect to its water content and hydrogen isotopic composition.
You will undertake cutting edge research and utilize latest analytical instrumentations such as NanoSIMS to perform geochemical and isotopic measurements of lunar samples. You will also undertake U-Pb age dating of lunar samples using SHRIMP instrumentation through external collaborations.
You will be able to work independently, within a team and collaboratively with others. You will possess a doctorate in a relevant discipline, prior experience of lunar science research, and a practical understanding of secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS).
