Hi All,
I am starting AA100 in February. I am from Newcastle Upon Tyne. I am 38 and I currently work as a HLTA teaching English GCSE in a special school.
I am hoping to complete a Literature and Creative Writing degree then do a GTP or PGCE and get paid a teachers wage for the job that I do!
Just ordering the set books now with a view to making a start on reading asap.
A little bit nervous. Havent really studied anything in great detail since 1991, when I did my A Levels (and then gave up going to Uni for my now Ex-hubby!). I am remarried now (4 years) and have a 12 year old daughter, along with my full time job. I am determined to do this though!
Anyone local doing this???
Claire

I finished this module back in October and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was mostly subjects I'd never seen before such as the art of Benin (I actually thought Benin was the artist until I read the chapter Duh!) but that just made it more interesting and even things I felt challenging like philosophy was presented so well in course book that I enjoyed them anyway. The tutorials were extremely helpful and full of like-minded easy going people. And my tutor was a star! I just hope that my next module starting in Feb is as engaging and fulfilling!

I'm staring in February too. I'm so glad that I managed to find a course that seems to suit me so well, almost as though it was designed with my tastes and temperamental nature in mind, and I'm incredibly exited to get started.
upon hearing from the tutor, Fiona, that some of you have already sent in your dummy assignments, I decided to get started on mine first thing tomorrow. I feel a little silly for not having started much earlier. I suppose there's still plenty of time.
I look forward to getting to know all of you over the next year, and hope to see at least some of you at the tutorials and day schools. Good luck!

Anyone out there know wether the AA100 is out as a ipad wigit or app read that somewhere some time back but can't find any links ??
Jenny,
Hi, have a look at the Getting Ready for AA100 web site, and in particular the AA100 Course Outline web page. The OpenLearn resources have a wealth of information regarding Doctor Faustus to get you started.
If you're "lucky" enough it might be an assigment of the Feb 2012 presentation.
