I finished this in June, now awaiting results. An excellent course, one of the best I have attempted. Well planned and books both interesting and helpful. It is time cosuming, but well worth the effort. Good luck.

Hi All, I agree with Judith - an excellent thought provoking, all consuming, brilliantly written course :) This was only the second course with OU and at level 3 and NO classics background!!! Also completed (although with extensions) while mourning the death of my mother and father-in-law. Thought I would have to give up BUT I kept on going because the subject was so interesting - I loved it & wish I could do it again. Throw yourself in to myths and savour every moment - Ovid's Metamorphoses is fantastic - I will never be the same again... Re: comment on Assignment Guide - I can't tell you want the assignments will be - but basic outline (if word count etc remains the same) is TMA01 1000 words; TMA02 2000 words; TMA03 2000 words; TMA04 2500 words; TMA05 2000 words & EMA 3000 words. The questions were set - there was no choice & most were split in to two parts. The EMA was choose a figure from myth and trace their development through antiquity and beyond (i.e. 21st century - if that grabs you.) Enjoy - I am so envious :) Jak :)

I also have signed up for this course and as a preparatory exercise am working through A219 The Classical World - a free taster introduction to this course.

I have also signed up for this course starting in October. Depending on how well I do, it may be my final course towards my BA(Hons) in Humanities with Music.

I am signed up but my job moves to Munich 1st October.
Not quite sure how I will cope but travelling should give me time to read!

Hi - just received my course materials through the post - devastated to find that the Assignment Booklet is not included and is now online!! It was always the first thing I read! Now we have to wait until the course website opens on the 21st.

I quite agree. I too am familiarwith reading the TMA and assignment guide in the form of a booklet. I am ready to start work on the assignments, and a weeks' delay is very frustrating.
Does this mean that we will have to print off all the pages of the booklet? How much paper will this use up (and how much ink?).
