Hi there,
I am also starting this course in September. I am so excited. I am 48 years old and have not studied since my school days. I didnt take any exams all those years ago as i didnt think education would get me anywhere. How wrong I was. So I am going to better myself before it gets too late for me. Nice to meet you Samantha.

Hello
I have just signed up for this course!! I am 61 and have been retired for 9 years. Like Joann I never bothered to much about my education when young, but was fortunate to get through life without it!! I now feel something is missing with both my children having been to University. I am really looking forward to starting.

Hiya!
I'm starting this in September too!To be honest though right now i'm bricking it!!! Just realised i'm not gonna have the time or money right now to get a laptop in time so need to share Mum's(no good can come of that!lol).I also work full time in Subway so my shift hours change all the time, but i think when i booked the course i was in denial about how much time studying would take-I left school 11 years ago and loved doing homework,I think i thought it would be similar. To say that i'm an efficient typist would be a bit of a stretch too.But this is the weird thing....despite the rant and moan, when i think of starting this course (and the hope of it leading to a degree in english lit),I feel overly excited and find myself smiling stupidly. How lame am I!?lol

Hello All,
I registered for this course last week after thinking about it for 2 months - lastminute.com.
Really looking forward to it although nervous. I studied science when I was younger so the arts is a step into the unknown for me.Like Lara, I last studied 18 years ago so the gray matter won't know what has hit it!! Look forward to chatting with you all :-)

Hi everybody.
Not long to the start of the course and I'm looking forward to it with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. I think I'll be fine once I get going and establish a routine. The study materials look great!

I'm starting in September too and am nervous as a kitten. I work full time and haven't studied for 22 years which is when I did GCSE's....am feeling very daunted but excited too. Good luck everyone.

Hi to you all! Just got back from holiday and tackling the materials in preparation for my first tutorial. Looks as interesting as I had hoped, not having studied any of the arts since 6th form 30 odd years ago! Looking forward to chatting with you all as the course progresses.

Hello everyone, I'm obviously a bit of a slow starter when it comes to forums and Facebook! Glad to read the posts and realise I'm not alone here getting to grips with poetry! Have sent in the first assignment after lots of procrastinating - even the ironing looked good... On to History now, looking forward to it. Best wishes Penny
I am starting this course in September and am looking forward to it. Not done anything like this before so a bit nervous too
Hi Samantha,
Please don't be nervous. But if you do, you will find you are not alone and Michele's story may help. You can read it on Platform here.
