Hey Emma, I have studied Y159 ( basically Y179 but before this september) anyway, I enjoyed it very much, my tutor gave me great feedback. I was also in your position worrying about essay writing as it had been some time since I had done so, but just take your time, relax and get to know the course materials. I found myself repeatedly reading through each section of the module book just to refreshen my knowledge, I found it helped quite a bit. One of my issues was referencing, once you've got that under control the rest is just finding appropiate information and evidence and linking it to your management experiences. Good Luck Emma!
P.S. In the assignment booklet there are some very good tips about essay writing, espeacially in the examples of how to answer the essay questions, dont just read, highlight important and well structured example sentences. It helped me come up with fresh ideas on how to start my sentences and what to base my evidence around.

I am starting the Team Leadership and Management course in October so am setting off with B120. I'm based in Eastbourne in the South East but would be really keen to chat to you all.
My course materials came through on Friday and I've been reading the handbooks - looks good!

I got all my course materials... And have been reading a bit through them, to try and get myself on top of it before i start and panic!
Does anyone know what date we start like doing the work?
Because i know it says the 6th october, but that is a saturday, and i cant find anything about that on the website or student home part? :(

I'm Dave - also starting B120 on October 6th, and am studying Business with Envrionment pathway.
I'm working full time so would love a study buddy nearby (I live in Kent and work in London) or online, to keep motivated and to help with bits along the way. I studied Business at AS level, but that was around 8/9 years ago so am feeling pretty rusty!
Is nice to know that others are nervous too, am hoping the next couple of weeks go quickly then we'll be in the swing of things!
