Hi there,

I am looking for a website about essays and the ways of writing them. I have already seen it somewhere here but do not remember where. If you know, please let me know or share the link (before I find it on my own ).

Thanks... Lada

Ok, I have it. It`s under assessment resources on "modules" website... just if someone else would be interested.

Nice day...

As I am 56 years of age and have actually never written an essay in my life. I decided to, splash out, on the book "Good Essay Writing" A Social Sciences Guide, from Amazon. I actually can't remember what I paid now but I think it was around £7.99. Whatever the price was, it was well worth itjust to give you a taster here are some of the chapter headings

  • What is a Social Science Essay?
  • Stages of Writing, from Preparation to Final Version.
  • Matching the Answers to the Questions.
  • Thinking Critically and Formulating an Argument.

It also goes into such things as the Circle of knowledge (which you have probably come across already). If you are looking for a book that is specific to Social Science essays you really cant go wrong with this one. Be sure, if you do decide to buy it, that you get the latest edition, which I think is 4 it's written by Peter Redman and Wendy Maples  ISBN 978-0-85702-370-4
