Sharing TMA results with other students

Could somebody please advise me as to if sharing TMA results with other students is allowed.

I am studying DD131.

I have heard conflicting opinions on this matter.

I know that you cannot share the actual assignment. I'm unsure about tutor feedback, but surely we should be allowed to share our TMA mark should we want to.

What are other peoples understanding of this issue?

If you and another student want to agree to share your results with each other by direct contact (eg face to face, email etc), then that's up to you.

However, a lot of both OU and OUSA forums will not allow this. That is to avoid students becoming upset - for example, someone who is absolutely delighted to get 65% may well feel a bit upset if someone comes in who is disappointed about getting 75%. Also, it's often an unrepresentative selection of students who share their marks (fairly often those with high ones) which can lead to people being discouraged.

It's to avoid this sort of problem that it is often frowned on. And even if you personally weren't going to say anything that could potentially upset others, as soon as a culture of sharing marks is started on a public forum, it could attract problematic posts.

Thank you for your advice and thoughts on this.

The sharing of TMA results that I was referring to is on a Facebook group.

A doc has now been set up on the group for those wishing to share their results, as a result anybody that does not wish to share their results or view other students marks has the option to not view the doc.
