Hi Shaun,
I completed W100 last year and found it to be a really great course! Although its not a compulsory course in the Law Degree (LL.B), it acts as a really great foundation for the subject. It covers a wide range legal areas and it's always a very interesting course! On my presentation, it started with studying the basic features of the English legal system, and then went on to cover areas such as corporate manslaughter, Euthanasia, IVF issues etc.
I found that the tutorials were regular and they usually varied between 2 and 3 hours long. They were at least monthly, and we had a fantastic tutor, so they were a really great thing to attend!
There were 7 TMA's to do, which varied in difficulty, but basically required either an Essay or a legal problem scenario to be answered. Also, at the end of the course there is no exam! Instead there's an EMA, which for most people is a real bonus! And once you've done the course you are given an OU Certificate in Legal Studies! So an instant qualification straight after finishing the course!
Overall I found the course really enjoyable and well supported - It's fast becoming one of the most popular in the OU!
Best wishes,
Luke
