“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
A MULTI-CITY, SIMULTANEOUS, PUBLIC PRAYER EVENT
On December 1st, at the start of Advent, cities around the world will unite for an hour of PUBLIC prayer for their nations between 7.14 - 8.14pm (inspired by 2 Chronicles 7v14)
A beautiful image of what the church is called to be. A visible sign of what the church is called to do. Within that hour we will ALL be united at set points for simultaneous corporate acts of worship: The Lord’s Prayer / Kneeling / Singing / Breaking Bread.
Pray together, in pairs, in groups, on your own. Bring your small group, youth group, student group, church. Lead a song, raise a shout, do a dance, jump for joy (?)....
But whatever you do, just come!
All over the world, nations are shaking. Politically, economically, socially, environmentally. It’s a time of great challenge and change.
In the face of such need, we can often feel powerless, wondering what difference we can make. At times such as these, God calls his people to pray.
This is such a time. This is such a call. This is a call to cities. It’s a call to cities to pray for nations.
Not just inside, within four walls, behind closed doors. But outside, publicly, in the heart of every city.
A visible statement of faith.
7:14 is a vision to see the WHOLE Church, young and old, come together to pray for our nations and leaders. The people of God in one place at one time, with the healing of lands on their hearts. The world is on the streets right now, rising up for change. It's time the Church was too, proclaiming Jesus Christ is Lord!
