Dear ALL of the OU community.
At midnight today the OU Life Sciences Society (OULSS) ceased to exist. An absolute majority of the members voted for it to continue as a Platform Group only and a relative majority voted to donate the funds held by the Society to the OU Student Educational Trust (OUSET).
This was inevitable because of lack of a functioning committee. This arose due to resignations, bad health and real life commitments.
Kind Regards,
Peter Canning.
I'm sure that it is for the best. As you say, there was a lack of interest in a formal Life Sciences group within OUSA so it was not sustainable.
I would like to thank Peter for all his hard work in trying to keep the idea of a society going. The society would not have lasted as long without his tireless input.
