The MBA Association of Ireland and Open University Ireland have hosted a major panel event focusing on 'the art of negotiation’ – a practical workshop profiling how negotiating and mediating skills can successfully transform outcomes for businesses.
A capacity audience at the Ulster Reform Club heard from four expert speakers who shared their experiences on the challenges and skills required in brokering multi-million pound deals, building consensus and resolving disputes satisfactorily.
John D'Arcy, OU Ireland Director commented:
"The Art of Negotiation seminar could easily have been re-titled "Three Lawyers and a Politician" with its high profile speakers - Brian Speers (Lawyer and mediation specialist), Trevor Ringland (Lawyer and former International rugby player), Ian Coulter (Corporate Lawyer and Chairman of the CBI in Northern Ireland) and Lord Alderice (former Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly).
"Both MBAAI and The Open University in Ireland have received excellent feedback from MBA graduates about the practical and insightful nature of the contributions which reflected negotiation issues from the worlds of politics, mergers and acquisitions, peace building and domestic behaviour. The Open University in Ireland's engagement with MBAAI will bring excellent development and networking opportunities for our MBA graduates in Ireland."
