OU's Colin Pillinger a judge in YouTube space experiment competition

Open University Professor of Planetary Sciences Colin Pillinger is one of the judges for YouTube's competition to put an experiment in space.

YouTube's Space Lab is inviting the public to come up with ideas for science experiments which could be conducted in space, and upload a video explaining their ideas to YouTube.

The experiment which the judges like best will be performed on the International Space Station and live streamed on YouTube to the world. 

 

Professor Pillinger, based in the OU 's Centre for Earth, Planetary, Space and Astronomical Research (CEPSAR) has been involved in space exploration he joined the NASA Apollo programme in 1968. He is probably best known as the leader of the Beagle 2 project, the attempt to land a British built spacecraft on Mars on Christmas day 2003.
