Yummy - beats leek pie. There's nothing wrong with Welsh Rarebit though.
Though Welsh lamb is even better!

Always been partial to a welsh cake or two myself. Especially the ones made from the family recipe
Do the Welsh cakes have a specific name, Beth? Interested to know what they are?

Very similar to drop scones ( so my mum says). Cooked on the hob (on a griddle) for a few minutes each side, very nice served warm with a thick layer of butter
. Not sure whether they have a welsh name for them or not.
Hi Bethan
Do you have a recipe you'd care to share?

ok this one is from the Hairy Bikers but pretty similar. I'd put more fruit and a pinch of nutmeg aswell.
Makes 6-8
225g self-raising flour
110g butter
85g caster sugar
handful of sultanas
1 egg
little bit of milk
Rub together the flour and butter to make breadcrumbs. Add the rest of the ingredients and make a dough add a splash of milk if needed. Roll out to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into rounds. Cook on a griddle (frying pan will do) 2-3 minutes each side. Serve warm with butter and a cup of tea.
