Many OU graduates cite how their studies led to more than just an academic qualification, gaining career-critical skills such as being highly organised, juggling workloads and an overall increase in confidence, plus other things such as a better social life (which in some cases has even led to marriage to a fellow student).
Which three things, above and beyond an award, do you feel studying with the OU has given you?

I feel that the OU has been invaluable for raising my confidence inside annd outside of study. It has really improved my time managing skills too. Having full responsibility of my studies means I am in charge of what I do, and when I do it, therefore I can arrange my studies around other personal commitments too which is brilliant.
Apart from time management, organisation, planning and all that jazz (all very important for a teacher) I learned the importance of time. I now realise that time for the things that matter to me is more important than earning large amounts, promotion and making my boss feel more important than he actually is. So now I am a part time teacher of numeracy to adults. I am financially poorer but much richer in other ways. I now have time to pursue my many interests, to spend time with my wife and family and to enjoy the work I do.
