Welcome to OUSEDS on Platform. If you are interested in space please introduce yourself and say a bit about your areas of interest.

I am studying the Astronomy route on the physical science degree and this year I'm taking s382 and s383. Having been made redundant last year I had some spare time and got involved with a UKSEDS project to provide a payload for the UK's first Cubesat misssion. We have now been selected to fly (one of four out of 22 original applicants). I have now also set up the OUSEDS branch and got elected to the UKSEDS committee (with responsibility for projects). I also joined Reading Astronomical Society last year. So far I have only invested in binoculars, but I attend their meetings regularly and get to look through some of their more expensive kit.

Hi all,

My name is Phil Wilson, I'm currently studying towards a degree in International Studies. Although I have a general interest in space, hence why I joined the group, my main area of interest is Space and International Politics...

 Hello

I'm Helen and I've signed up for the level 2 course SXP288 Practical science: physics and astronomy.  Hopefully I will get to meet other students interested in Astronomy.

I have an interest in Astronomy and have recently been on an astro-photography course which was great.  I graduated from Sussex University in 2006 with a BA in Geography.

The SXP288 course I undestand is new, and I've chosen the option Remote Observation using GIS.  I covered GIS and remote sensing in my BA so am looking forward to using it 'beyond Earth'.

All the best,

Helen

Hello, My name is Emma, I'm studying for a certificate in contemporary science but i've been interested in astronomy and space for a while as it's one of the main topics i teach as part of my job. I'm taking the new 10 credit S177 module, Galaxies stars and planets in May and really looking forward to it.
