hi im starting the DD101 module in october and i was wondering what books/ materials are included in the course?

Hi Amanda, I am also starting this module in October. Have you chosen to do just the introduction module to begin with and then apply for the others later? I was looking for other books on criminology & Psychology so I could start studying early and found a few but have been advised that all the material needed will be included but Im not sure what books specifically.

Hi, I start in October too. I believe we are given all we need but would be interested if anyone has recommendations on reading material to get "warmed up", as it were.

Ive found out on here that we receive the study material 1 month prior to the course so in September, but I want to start studying now!! lol

Hi I'm starting in October too and was advised to read Kath Woodwards the Big issues, (the most recent edition) and The good study guide by Andy Northedge. I have a few others that others who have done the same degree as me have recommended too. Hope this helps!

I'm also starting in Oct, I'm living in Galway (Ireland) and am excited about finally starting this course after a few years of thinking about it! i haven't done an OU course before, but i did one with blended learning (workshops monthly but otherwise online)I'd love to keep in touch with a few classmates, to bounce ideas off each other!

Have been planning to do this for years but it weas never "a good time". Having come to the realisation that there will probably never be "a good time" have decided to take the plunge anyway and see how I get on. I haven't done any further education so I'm really looking forward to getting into it.
