Found the one for January but thought I would start one for those of us starting this course in September / October. I am excited but nervous to start and am keen to find a support group online or in real life. Would be great to hear from anyone else studying with kids and a job too!
I will investigate if there is a facebook page and post the link here later. Good luck to everyone starting and look forward to hearing from you all!

Hello there! I'm completely new here, would like to do Bsc Psychology. Do I get to choose only one module at first? When I select DD101 (60 credits), I can't add the Exploring Psychology one (DSE212), Is that normal?

Oh, forgot to mention, I've got 6 years old daughter :)
Hi,
I am hoping to start DD101 in October. I work full time as a Health Care Assistant, and I have 3 children, aged 6, 5, and 2.
As far as I am aware, yes, you only choose one module to begin with.
I am just waiting until July to be able to apply for the student loan.
Hi Guys. It's great to hear from you all :) I have two children my daughter is nine and my son is one.
Tracey - Hi! I am new to the OU too so can't offer much help/advice but I hope you are getting on ok.
Iwona - I am also planning to study for the BSc Psychology. My understanding is that you have a choice of opening modules - DD101 which is worth 60pts or DD131 (30pts) and DSE141 (30pts). DSE212 is also worth 60pts but is level 2 and I think you have to have studied DD101 or the combination of DD131 & DSE141 before starting that. From what I can tell you can only study 60pts (half of full time university) at a time but if anyone knows differently it'd be great to hear.
Tracey - Hello. Three children and a full time job! Wow! Super mum?! I thought I had a mean task with two kids and a part time job. Are you studying for your work as a Health Care Assistant? I am also waiting to apply for the loan, July seems quite a while to wait. The fact that they are doing loans for part time students really helped my decision to study.
Hopefully we can keep in touch on here and offer each other support as it is needed.
Hey, I have just enrolled to study psychology starting Oct. I am choosing DD101 (60 creds) for Level one.

Hello, so happy to have found this thread! I have also enrolled to start on this module in October!
Jennifer: I have read on another thread that materials get sent out roughly 3/4 weeks before start date depending on your payment method. Hope this helps!
I am new to OU and work full time.
