also, if anyone wants to be study buddies that'd be great :)

Hello Gemma, Amy and Kiera  :)

I think everyone must feel a bit nervous and unsure at the start, I know I am!

The study buddies thing sounds like a great idea, no slacking then hehe.

Hi everyone,

Just stumbled upon you all and thought I would say hello.

I am also due to start DSE141 in November and never studied with OU before. I have a full time job, 2 children, a husband and a dog and am renovating an old cottage so I thought I would become even busier with a degree!

I would love some study buddies to talk psychology with as my dog is getting bored already!!

Jan Yelf - Sat, 15/10/2011 - 23:20

Hi Jacqui and everyone else I guess, not sure how these forums work! A study buddy or two sounds like a good idea especially as we are all beginners. I too have a very hectic life and am wondering where the study is going to fit in but sometimes the more you have to do the more efficiently you use your time. Here's hoping anyway!

Tracy Fitzgerald - Mon, 10/10/2011 - 21:29

Hi Everyone

Likewise am starting out with OU Psychology.  Study materials arrived this evening - now wondering how I'm going to fit it in but also looking forward to studying.  Like the idea of study buddies - nice to know many of us have similar thoughts with regard to studying.  Good luck all.  I'm based in North Wales so if anyone is likely to be going to Llandrillo for tutorials it would be great to make contact beforehand.

It has taken me so long to find this discussion again! I really need to find my way around these forums and the whole site! Does the conversation remain on here or has everyone retreated to emails? Anyone starting DSE141 in November who would like to email me and compare the notes I have not made yet please feel free to do so on janyelf@btinternet.com otherwise I guess I will see if I can find my way back here!

Robyn Bateman - Tue, 18/10/2011 - 08:56

Hi Jan

You can bookmark your favourite forums so they're easier to find. Click the 'bookmark this' tab at the top of the forum and it will automatically add it to your bookmarks which can be accessed from the Platform homepage, on the righthand side under the head 'bookmark'. You can also do this will articles or blogs you'd like to come back to as well.

Hope that helps!

Robyn

Hi Laura,

My name's Amy, I'm 18 and  live near to London. It's good to find someone around my age taking the module, and someone who hasn't studied psychology before. I am a complete newbie to the subject although it has always interested me, so like you I am rather nervous about starting. Hopefully we'll both pick it up as we go :) I've been enjoying reading the course text so that's a good sign, how are you finding it?

I find that conversation can be difficult to follow on here so if you want to talk some more feel free to drop me an email :) my address is Higgywigs@yahoo.co.uk. It would be great to get in touch.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Amy

Hi everyone,

I am also due to start dse141 in a couple of weeks. I am very apprehensive despite the fact that it's my fifth Ou course. My last course was 4 years ago and I've decided to break myself back in with a 30 point level 1 course. Good luck to everyone I'm sure it will be a great course for anyone who is interested in Psychology. Will look forward to discussion on this forum in the coming months :-)

Jonathan Keymer - Wed, 19/10/2011 - 08:02

Hi everyone,

I'm another newcomer to psychology about to start DSE141. Thought I'd test the waters with this forum. I expect this will become a useful aid to the course once it gets going. I'm 37 and live in Krakow where I teach English. Looking forward to seeing if studying psychology full-time in the future is for me or not..

Laura Freeman - Wed, 19/10/2011 - 19:20

Hey everyone, I'm also finding it a bit difficult to find my way around the site haha, technically challenged person here.  :)

Is anyone on the facebook group for this course?  It might make it easier to chat to everyone instead of having to individually mail everyone.

Looking forward to starting and hope I can fit in enough studying!

Lisa Weeks - Sun, 23/10/2011 - 19:03

Hi Laura, Im also technically challenged, I am also new to this OU study.  I think I am on the DSE141 facebook group but knowing me I could have ended up anywhere in cyber space!!
